THE $1,000,000 9-BALL SHOOTOUT
August 6-10, 2008
Valley Forge Convention Center, PA
Take a chance to play for your share of the $1,000,000 prize pool!
In August of 2008 Allen Hopkins will bring together more than 200 of the World's Finest Shooters to compete for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and the crowning championship gold bracelet.
This event is going to happen. The $1,000,000 prize pool is based on an anticipated amount of 200 players. While we realize that 200 players may not enter the first year, this is our plan. No matter what, we will host this event. Even if only 10 players show up, then those 10 players will play for $50,000. If 64 players show up, then they will play for a $320,000 prize pool. Get the point? We just want to be certain that everyone knows this event will happen.
INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS: If you need an Invitation Letter from Allen Hopkins Productions to come and play in this event, click here for a pdf file of a signed invitation. If there is something else you need, please email us and just ask, we will try to help.
For the last several months we have been collecting names of players who are interested in playing, now comes the next step...
To help us determine expected field size and anticipated payouts, please send in your entry forms and fees now.
Want to sponsor a player, or get sponsored?
This is another great option we have developed... Allen Hopkins Productions will broker any arrangements in the event that an individual or poolroom wants to sponsor a player! If you own a poolroom, or just want to get involved, you can choose your player, pay their entry fees and sponsor them in the event. Allen Hopkins will personally contact the player, let them know you are interested, and then get back to you. All monies and payout distributions will be handled by Allen Hopkins Productions. About the promoter...
The Million Dollar 9-Ball Shootout is brought to you by Allen Hopkins, former World Champion and ESPN Commentator. His professional career began in the 1970's and has spanned 3 decades. During that time, Hopkins has won countless titles, including World and US Championships. He also served on the board of the now defunct PPPA and was the president of the MPBA. Hopkins has been the color commentator for ESPN for years, and was involved with billiards on television as far back as the early 80's with the CBS Wide World of Sports. In 1993, Allen Hopkins started the Super Billiards Expo which has since become the largest consumer orientated Expo in the industry. Over the last several years, Hopkins has combined efforts with Billiards International to bring you the SKINS Billiards Championship and the Texas Hold'em Billiards Championship.
With years of experience and knowledge, Hopkins has now set his eye on making this the largest pool tournament ever. His vision of a $1,000,000 prize pool is very attainable, and his qualifier system will allow the everyday player to get in on the action and take a chance to win someting big.
